If you are recording from a TV the recorders output is hooked up in the same TV.

Do not adjust any settings in your DVD recorder, if you adjust any, the TV will include those menus, and it can create very nasty visual feedback that could harm the machines.

While getting started first check if the DVD recorder will record properly, make sure that the RCA (yellow, red, and white plugs) output connection are hook up to the TV's input connection.

Second, you must know where and what to record.

Hooked the output on the device you wish to record from, into the input of the DVD recorder.

There are two types of DVD recorder:

  • The DVD-R(w) which is the standard type.

  • and The DVD-RAM which is also available in recordable, it can watch previously recorded pieces while recording at the same time.
